The Melbourne Wrestling Federation was one of the many small independent promotions in Australia. Like Aussie Rules Wrestling, it was small and was bought out by Australian Pro Wrestling. One of it's rising stars was Alyx Macquarie, who went to APW after the buyout.
Although small, it was the largest promotion in Australia. It's product was a form of Australian sports entertainment, popularized in America by the Supreme Wrestling Federation. However, it involved more wrestling than future Australian company Revolution Australian Wrestling, which more closely resembles a soap opera rather than a wrestling show.
