Appropriately enough, Enygma is something of a mystery within the wrestling industry, being one of the very few wrestlers whose real identity is truly a secret, having never been caught without his mask. Almost nothing is known about him, not even where he was trained or by whom. He burst onto the scene out of nowhere in 2002, taking the SWF by storm with a two-year undefeated streak that saw him become one of the most over workers on the roster. He became world champion in 2004, but a badly booked reign and the loss of his streak blew his momentum and the next four years saw him essentially become stuck in a holding pattern, slipping further and further down the pecking order. In 2008, he was poached from the SWF on an obscenely large contract by USPW, which is seen as the official start of the war between the two companies.
