Profile[]

"The Lord Of Strong Style" Eisaku Kunomasu is a highly respected Japanese worker, who was one of the original stars of PGHW. He shocked Japan when, seemingly on the verge of great things, he left to join American promotion DAVE in 1998. He ended up having a pretty successful time there, before returning to PGHW and a hero's welcome in August 2005. He is one of the finest technical workers on the planet, and loves to apply submission holds, particularly his deadly invention, the Kunomasu Vice.

History[]

Eisaku Kunomasu was born on November 23rd, 1970 in Tokyo, Japan to a doctor. Very little else is known about his early life until he made his pro wrestling debut against fellow rookie Eisaku Hoshino at the very first Pride Glory Honor Wrestling event on July 18th, 1996, pinning Hoshino following a powerbomb. Kunomasu would become one of the mainstays of PGHW with a legendary 60 minute tag match with partner Hoshino against Hito Ichihara and then-Glory Crown champion Koryusai Kitoaji that ended in a draw. Seven months later, Kunomasu shocked the Japanese wrestling world by announcing that he would be leaving to compete in America.

"The Lord of Strong Style" Kunomasu (dropping his first name in the US) made his American debut in April 1998 for Danger and Violence Extreme, defeating star JD Morgan in under ten minutes with a Launching Knee Strike. During his time in DAVE, Kunomasu gained a reputation for his excellent matches, and also debuted a new style to his ring work, dropping the Launching Knee Strike as his finisher and replacing it with the Kunomasu Vice. Kunomasu's time in DAVE was alos marked by two reigns as Brass Knuckles champion.

In the summer of 2005, Kunomasu again made a shocking decision as he left America to return to Japan. He made his return to PGHW during a post match attack on former partner Eisaku Hoshino by Dread, making an unannounced run-in to lock the giant Dread in a Kunomasu Vice. Kunomasu wrestled his final match for DAVE, defeating Acid, before marking his full time return to PGHW with a submission victory over Dread.

Despite all his success on both sides of the globe, Kunomasu remains an enigma in the sport. Also, surprisingly, title reigns have thus far eluded the Lord of Strong Style, as to date he only has three minor title reigns to his name.
